Lead singer David McGroarty approached me regarding a more acoustic version of their song “Reflection”. What he commissioned me for was to write the song as if it was just piano and voice. He sent me all the stems of the original song and gave me a few weeks to workshop the piano accompaniment. What I returned to him was an example recording of the work using the the original vocal stems along with midi of the piano arrangement to be used however he pleased. While I did not do any mixing or recording on this specific project and the project never reached completion, it opened the door to later be invited to a recording session with the band where I could shadow and even give my own input with a producer/audio engineer. Following that I was even asked to run sound for a dress rehearsal while their usual engineer was unavailable.
