Alina and I met while taking descriptive acoustics in the spring of 2023 where we instantly became friends. We spoke of recording her music a number of times before I finally reached out to her to make it a reality. In the process I learned about the numerous methods of mixing and miking a piano. As well as the different types of sound I could achieve depending on microphone placement and type. With help from our studio manager, Tanner Mahovsky, we were able to decide on a sound that fit Alina’s genre and style of play the best.
